BTPN SINAYA OFFERS A NEW STYLE OF BANKING AND MUTUAL EMPOWERMENT

Jakarta, November 14, 2013 – Saving has become an inherent part of the modern public lifestyle. But how can you make your savings work not only for you, but also for the wider community? This poses a unique challenge.

In rising to this challenge, BTPN Sinaya offers a new concept in banking. Inspired by the phrase “Sinar yang Memberdayakan” or ”Rays of Empowerment”, all public funds saved in BTPN Sinaya are redistributed to lower-income segments of society as well as micro and small enterprise owners.

“BTPN Sinaya offers a new lifestyle in terms of saving. With BTPN Sinaya, each and every rupiah of customer savings funds gains greater value as these funds are distributed directly to empower those that need them; in this case pensioners, micro and small enterprises, and productive poor communities,” said Helena, Retail Funding Business Head BTPN.

This is not all – at BTPN Sinaya, customers have an opportunity to participate directly in sharing their inspirations and experiences with mass market customers through the Sahabat Daya initiative. Sahabat Daya is a program that invites all BTPN stakeholders to play an active part in empowering mass market customers.

Customers can share and engage with mass market customers directly through the Sahabat Daya program. It can therefore be said that, by becoming a BTPN Sinaya customer, savers and depositors are able to contribute to efforts to create opportunities for the mass market to grow and achieve a more meaningful life.

“BTPN is aware that in order to grow, the mass market segment requires not only financial access, but also training and guidance to enhance its capacities,” Helena continued.

Daya, a measured and sustainable empowerment program, constitutes a unique value proposition which distinguishes BTPN from other banks. All BTPN customers, composed of pensioners, micro and small enterprise entrepreneurs, and productive poor communities, are eligible for Daya.

In contrast to BTPN’s three other business units, namely BTPN Purna Bakti, BTPN Mitra Usaha Rakyat and BTPN Syariah, Daya is more oriented towards improving the capabilities of customers. To this end, through BTPN Sinaya, BTPN is glad to present a chance to all savers and depositors to join its mission of empowering the millions of Indonesians in the mass market through the Sahabat Daya Program.

“With BTPN Sinaya, customers have the chance to join in creating opportunities for lower-income groups as well as micro & small enterprises to grow and gain significance. BTPN Sinaya customers can share their knowledge and provide training through the Sahabat Daya Program,” said Helena.

This was confirmed by Stella Trisnasari, a Sinaya customer who also happens to be a businesswoman. In her view, becoming a BTPN Sinaya customer enabled her to share and interact directly with mass market communities. Stella also praised the personal service offered in offices which are comfortable for doing banking transactions.

“As a Sinaya customer, I not only receive optimum returns on my savings, but am also able to immerse myself in community empowerment efforts and, in turn, play a role in developing Indonesian society.”

BTPN Sinaya presently has 80 branches spread across 34 cities, with plans to add more. Each branch is uniquely and exclusively designed, and gives priority to customer security and comfort. As the BTPN funding business unit, Sinaya provides savings and time deposit products which are safe and offer optimum returns – accompanied by first-rate personal service.

Through BTPN Sinaya, the value of public deposits grew by 15% (yoy) from Rp 42,5 trillion as of September 30, 2012 to Rp 49,03 trillion as of September 30, 2013.
