Jenius Digital Banking is officially present in Surabaya
Surabaya, May 8, 2018 - PT Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional Tbk (BTPN) officially introduced its Jenius service in Surabaya. The application, which is designed and developed to support the digital savvy people to improve their life finance quality, is ready to provide comprehensive banking solution and personal financial management through Android or iOs based smart phones.
As a city with positive economic growth supported by the growing businesses and entrepreneurship, Surabaya digital savvy people need access to different financial services. It is undeniable that the financial management is one of the important pillars in running a business.
According to BTPN Digital Banking Head, Peterjan van Nieuwenhuizen, it is the reason for Jenius to be present in Surabaya, dubbed as the City of Heroes. “It is our privilege to be able to serve the financial needs of digital savvy people in Surabaya. This city has been famous for grooming many tough and inspirational businesspeople and entrepreneurs. By introducting Jenius, we hope the Surabaya digital savvy can manage their life finance in an easy, smart and save way as well as can co-create with us in developing this digital banking service.”
After being introduced for the first time in August 2016, Jenius has successfully integrated the element of lifestyle and life finance concept to the digitally savvy urban community in the Greater Jakarta and Bandung. Based on the experience, BTPN chose Surabaya as the third city to outreach Jenius digital banking services by introducing its features which are easy, smart and save for the digital savvy people.
Jenius is a digital banking innovation to a certain segment in the society who can be identified as an urban community and technology literate. Jenius is a banking revolution with digitalization process since the beginning. Through Jenius, the customers can open their bank account without having to come to the nearest branch office and can enjoy various banking services using application.
“We concluded that in every decision made by someone in his life, consciously or not, it would have a financial consequence. Based on this understanding, we present Jenius to help the people manage their life finance. Therefore, we hope the customers will be able to manage their lifestyle and life finance easier based on their needs and wants,” Peter said.
BTPN Digital Banking Value Proposition & Product Head, Irwan Sutjipto Tisnabudi, explained further that BTPN has collaborated and co-created with digital savvy people to enrich Jenius features so that it could answer the needs of the customers properly. “We did not stop our collaboration and cocreation process in early phase. We want Jenius to keep evolving to adjust the lifestyle of the digital savvy people who are so dynamic. Therefore, we continue the co-creation process to make Jenius stay relevant.”
Some of the features that can be found in Jenius application, as a result of the co-creation, is $Cashtag that gives the users options to remember and inform his account number easily to others because he created that. There is also e-Card which can be a solution for those who need safe online transaction without using credit cards. As a comprehensive financial management solution, Jenius also provides several savings into one Jenius account such as FlexiSaver and DreamSaver. There is also MaxiSaver, a deposit with optimum interest per annum.
Users can also classify their routine spending using the x-Card that can be issued to maximum three cards. All Jenius debit cards are VISA debit cards that are internationally connected so that any transaction using Jenius debit cards can be done worldwide.
At the same occation, photographer, culinary curator and entrepreneur Jiewa Vieri positively welcomed Jenius digital banking service in Surabaya. To him, Jenius gives easiness in understanding and accessing the much needed financial services. “Living in this city with various developing businesses, I have been exposed to information on financial. Jenius has presented a new angle and way in financial management from trading, budget allocation, to saving. Interestingly, we don’t have to queue at a bank to make a new Jenius account because we can access our financial needs easily and safely through our smartphones,” said Jiewa, who is nicknamed @inijie.
Jenius is one of BTPN innovations in digital banking services. Previously, in March 2015, BTPN launched BTPN Wow! which is focused on those living in remote areas and do not have access to banking.
