THE SAHABAT DAYA PROGRAM PROVIDES GREAT OPPORTUNITIES FOR BTPN SINAYA CUSTOMERS TO PARTICIPATE DIRECTLY IN THE MISSION OF EMPOWERMENT

YOGYAKARTA, 15 October 2015 – Focused and consistent in serving lower-income communities, including pensioners, micro, small & medium enterprise (MSME) entrepreneurs, as well as productive poor communities (mass market), PT Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional Tbk (BTPN) believes that direct engagement in empowering customers is the key to the growth of first-rate and sustainable business performance.

To achieve this, BTPN has implemented a business model that integrates its social and business missions in terms of its products, services and everyday activities. The synergy between these two missions is reflected through ’Daya’.

Daya is a measured and sustainable empowerment program which focuses on health, welfare and the practical coaching of entrepreneurial skills. Daya is integral to each of the BTPN business units, namely BTPN Purna Bakti,BTPN Mitra Usaha RakyatBTPN Mitra Bisnis as well as BTPN Sinaya. Daya is also applied within BTPN Syariah, a subsidiary of BTPN.

"Daya arose out of a yearning to make a difference in the lives of others. It is a program which seeks to offer hard-working and respectable people a deserved ray of hope. BTPN has made a solemn commitment to developing the capacities of its customers in a sustainable manner while also offering them a chance to grow as well as opportunities to improve their lives - and Daya is the tangible manifestation of this commitment in action," said Chairul Sani, Distribution Head of BTPN Sinaya, at a Daya Tumbuh Usaha training event held at the Bintaran Branch of BTPN in Yogyakarta.

The whole of society can now enjoy the opportunity of sharing and interacting directly with mass market customers. Through the Sahabat Daya Program, BTPN offers BTPN Sinaya customers the chance to get directly involved in empowering lower-income people as well as MSME entrepreneurs.

“Sahabat Daya is a pioneering program which seeks to invite all BTPN stakeholders to participate directly in the mission of empowering the mass market. Through the Sahabat Daya Program, our customers get to share their knowledge and experiences in training for mass market customers. It goes without saying that this has been of great benefit to these customers," added Chairul.

At the Daya Tumbuh Usaha training, which took place in Yogyakarta on this occasion, Wignyo Rahadi, a BTPN Sinaya customer, took the opportunity to share his experiences with MSME customers. Wignyo is a designer and weaving craftsman from Sukabumi, West Java. His place of work doubles as a place of education as Wignyo frequently takes the time to provide training and instruction to ladies who used to be brick makers to transform themselves. How? By instead becoming fellow weavers.

"I was really drawn to BTPN Sinaya and felt that we had a shared vision in terms of empowerment. That's why I decided it was the right place for me to place my funds. With BTPN Sinaya, every single rupiah of my savings has greater value because it is channeled directly into the empowerment of communities in need, in this case mass market customers," said Wignyo.

For Wignyo, it was important that he could engage directly with mass market customers to exchange thoughts and ideas through the Sahabat Daya Program. "I really cherish every chance I get to share tips and experiences with BTPN customers working in the fashion industry as MSME entrepreneurs," he continued enthusiastically.

BTPN Sinaya is proud to offer a new concept in banking. BTPN Sinaya customers draw great satisfaction in knowing that their savings are not just growing in value, but are also facilitating the development and empowerment of millions of people with great potential in Indonesia.
