BTPN SINAYA EMPOWERS THE PUBLIC THROUGH ITS SAHABAT DAYA PROGRAM

Bandung, 4 June 2015 – Focused and consistent in serving the mass market, namely lower-income segments as well as micro, small & medium enterprises (MSMEs), PT Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional Tbk (BTPN) believes that customers not only require financial access, but also training and guidance to enhance their capacities. We believe that such an improvement in their capacities will encourage customers’ businessess to grow in a sustainable manner.

To realize this, BTPN has implemented a business model that integrates its social and business missions in terms of its products, services and everyday activities. The synergy between its business and social mission is reflected through Daya, a measured and sustainable empowerment program.

Daya is applied in the four BTPN business units, namely BTPN Purna Bakti— business unit that focuses on serving pensioner customers, BTPN Mitra Usaha Rakyat (MUR) — business unit that focuses on serving micro & small enterprise entrepreneurs, BTPN Mitra Bisnis business unit that serves medium enterprise entrepreneursas well as BTPN Sinaya – BTPN’s funding business unit. Daya is also applied in BTPN Syariah, the BTPN subsidiarywhich focuses on serving productive poor communities.

Apart from the other business units, in which Daya is aimed more at enhancing the capacities of customers, in BTPN Sinaya, BTPN offers an opportunity to all savers and depositors to participate in the mission of empowering the millions of people in the Indonesian mass market. To this end, BTPN Sinaya customers can take part as volunteers in our Sahabat Daya Program.

Sahabat Daya is a program that invites all BTPN stakeholders to participate directly in empowering the mass market. Through the Sahabat Daya Program, customers can share and engage directly with mass market customers.

“BTPN Sinaya customers who serve as volunteers in the Sahabat Daya Program can share their knowledge and training with others. This program provides a platform for BTPN Sinaya customers to empower lower-income communities and SME entrepreneurs to grow and have a more meaningful life,” said Heksa Hadi Agustini, Area Business Leader of BTPN Sinaya for Bandung and its surrounding areas.

Nadya Saib, a BTPN Sinaya customer, had the opportunity to share her experiences with BTPN MUR's Bandung branch customers in the Inspirasi Usaha (Business Inspiration) training event held at Astana Anyar branch of BTPN in Bandung. This natural cosmetics entrepreneur possesses a great spirit and motivation for empowering lower-income people, in particular micro and small enterprise entrepreneurs.

“My journey in running a business and meeting with those involved in MSMEs served as a calling for me to become a volunteer in Sahabat Daya. This gave me the chance to share some business tips with BTPN Mitra Usaha Rakyat customers, and I took the opportunity to do so today,” Nadya explained.

BTPN Sinaya indeed offers a new concept in banking. In BTPN Sinaya customer deposits not only grow and provide optimal benefits, but also have the potential to empower millions of Indonesian people.

Through the first quarter of 2015, public trust in BTPN continued rising. This was reflected in an increase in Third Party Funds (TPF) saved in BTPN Sinaya. As of 31 March 2015, TPF saved in BTPN Sinaya stood at Rp 54.4 trillion, up 10% from the same period last year when they amounted to Rp 49.3 trillion.
