BTPN ENHANCES MICRO ENTREPRENEUR CAPACITY


Medan - Friday, September 7, 2012. PT Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional Tbk (BTPN) held the "Daya" empowerment program at its Kapt. Muslim Branch, Jl. Gatot Subroto, Tomang Elegant Complex No. 69, Medan. "Daya" is a sustainable and measurable mass market empowerment program which aims to increase the capacity of pensioners, micro and small entrepreneurs (MSEs), as well as productive poor community customers. Ade Justin Djafri attended the event as the Regional Business Leader MSE North Sumatra region.

Ade explained, "BTPN developed "Daya" program based on a business models that integrates our social and business mission, or "Do Good Do Well". Because BTPN believes that its involvement in building the customers’ environment will have a positive impact on the growth capacity of customers, which will also improve the Bank’s growth performance."

“Daya” empowering program, to raise the capacity of our customers, consists of three pillars: Daya Sehat Sejahtera (Daya Health and Wellness), Daya Tumbuh Usaha (Daya Entrepreneurial Capacity Building), and Daya Tumbuh Komunitas (Daya Community Empowerment). "Daya" program carried out in Medan is Daya Entrepreneurial Capacity Building, business development program for micro and small entrepreneurs (MSEs). The training is simple with a module containing practical tips, for example: practical tips to increase revenues and how to create customer loyalty; tips to build and develop the brand; to manage financials, and to organize merchandise.

"Within the 1-year period (July 1, 2011 - June 30 2012) the program nation-wide has reached 948,269 beneficiaries, an increase of 61% over the same period last year, which recorded 588,540 beneficiaries. The beneficiaries are mass market customers, ie micro and small businesses, retirees, as well as productive low-income communities, "said Ade.

Ade added that the number of Daya activities and training classes held also increased by 102% from 18,187 events (as of June 2011) to 36,669 events (as of June 2012). In addition, BTPN's empowerment programs implemented during this period received very positive feedback from customers. Based on evaluation results, the average customer satisfaction rate reached 90%.

"Through the Daya Entrepreneurial Capacity Building program we hope to increase the capacity of our customers, mainly the micro business, so that they can grow better," said Ade.
