PT Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional Tbk (BTPN) has been selected as the Best Issuer in the category of Bank Umum Swasta Non-Devisa (Non-Foreign Exchange Private Commercial Bank) at the Bisnis Indonesia Awards which were held in Jakarta on 15 May 2017. Under the theme of Konsisten Bertumbuh: Menjaga Momentum di Tengah VUCA (Growing Consistently: Keeping up Momentum Amid Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity & Ambiguity), the 2017 Bisnis Indonesia Awards present awards to issuers that have consistently managed to record a positive performance in the midst of all the challenges facing them.
For the 2017 Bisnis Indonesia Awards, the performance of issuers was assessed over a three year period from 2014 to 2016. As such, for this year’s awards, BTPN was still included in the Bank Umum Swasta Non-Devisa (Non-Foreign Exchange Private Commercial Bank) category. In fact, since 16 February 2016, BTPN has had the status of a foreign exchange bank.
“Hopefully, this award will spur us on to perform even better,” said BTPN Director Kharim Indra Gupta Siregar after receiving the award.
In addition to improved performance, another key consideration for the 2017 Bisnis Indonesia Awards is that the issuers being evaluated consistently operate within the corridor of good business practices.
This yearly event staged by the daily newspaper Bisnis Indonesia presents awards in the following four categories: Best sectoral issuer (mining, agriculture, basic industries, etc.), Best banking/financial issuer, Best CEO, and a special award.
