Business Capacity Enhancemen
Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) play a significant role contributing to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and providing employment opportunities. However, MSMEs continue to face various challenges, including limited market access, a lack of advanced technology adoption, a shortage of skilled human resources, and restricted access to financial services.
Therefore, in addition to providing capital assistance, Bank BTPN organizes business capacity enhancement programs with the aim of increasing the number of entrepreneurs in Indonesia, helping MSME players advance in their businesses, and creating new business opportunities. These programs are implemented through seminars/training sessions, business mentoring, information on new business opportunities, improved market access, both offline and online, and the provision of the daya.id website.
Topics covered for education include Digital Marketing, Understanding Business Financial Statements, Effective Inventory Management, and more. To improve market access, Bank BTPN organizes customer product exhibitions and collaborates with three Indonesian marketplaces, namely Tokopedia, Shopee, and Bukalapak. As for new business opportunities, Bank BTPN partners with franchisors in Indonesia to offer alternative business options to increase the income of the community and its customers.
In 2022, the business capacity enhancement program, including seminars and training, was attended by 9,980 participants. The business mentoring program had 32 participants, and 1,261,494 individuals accessed online learning materials through infographics.
The business mentoring program, as part of the business capacity enhancement initiative, has made a significant impact on business owners. For instance, participants have become willing and capable of maintaining primary financial records, adopting digital marketing strategies, identifying target markets, and diversifying their product offerings. As expressed by Bu Tanti, a snack entrepreneur: "I am truly grateful to have met Mr. BTPN in the training because it helped me keep my finances in order." Bu Ririn, a food business owner, added that thanks to the Daya program, "I am motivated to run my business again because, due to COVID-19, there was a slump in income, and my expenses never matched. I lost enthusiasm for selling." Similarly, Mr. Adir, a clothing retailer, shared, "It has been a source of joy and substantial help in growing my business. I now have a better understanding of my target market and the revenue goals I need to achieve."
