HEALTH EDUCATION FOR PENSIONER CUSTOMERS IN JAMBI
Free information, consultations and check-ups as part of health education and disease prevention
Jambi, 2 September 2014 – Focused and consistent in serving and empowering lower-income segments of society, including pensioners and micro & small enterprise (MSE) entrepreneurs, as well as productive poor communities (mass market), PT Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional Tbk (BTPN) believes that members of the mass market not only require financial access, but also training and guidance to enhance their business capacities and quality of life.
To realize this, BTPN has implemented a business model that integrates its social and business missions in terms of its products, services and everyday activities. The synergy between these two missions is reflected through Daya, a program that is available to all BTPN customers comprised of pensioners, micro & small enterprise entrepreneurs, as well as productive poor communities.
Daya is a measured and sustainable empowerment program with a focus on health and welfare, as well as practical training for entrepreunerial skills. Daya represents the realization of BTPN’s commitment to develop the capacities of its customers in a sustainanable manner, while also giving them to opportunity to grow and obtain better life opportunities.
Daya consists of the following three program pillars: Daya Sehat Sejahtera, Daya Tumbuh Usaha, and Daya Tumbuh Komunitas. Daya is integral to all of BTPN’s business units, namely BTPN Purna Bakti - the business unit that focuses on serving pensioners, BTPN Mitra Usaha Rakyat (MUR) - the business unit that is focused on serving micro & small enterprise entrepreneurs, as well as BTPN Sinaya - BTPN’s funding business unit. In addition, Daya is also applied in the subsidiary of BTPN, BTPN Syariah, which focuses on serving productive poor communities.
BTPN especially understands the needs of pensioner customers, who have a store of experience of over 56 years. This pertains not only to financial products and services, but also to the needs of these folks to continue living a healthy and productive life. Daya Sehat Sejahtera is a program that aims to encourage a healthy lifestyle for all BTPN customers.
“Health is one of the most important assets in supporting our daily activities. Through Daya Sehat Sejahtera, our customers are supplied with information and education about health and disease prevention so that they are able to maintain their good health,” said Bambang Suprapto, Area Sales Head of BTPN Purna Bakti Bengkulu.
As part of the Daya Sehat Sejahtera activities being carried out today, besides giving information concerning health, BTPN Purna Bakti in Jambi is also providing free health check-ups and consultations to all pensioners. “As a measured and sustainable program, Daya Sehat Sejahtera arranges regular and routine activities, which are ably supported by medical professionals spread across all the operational areas of BTPN,” Bambang added.
On a national level, during the first semester of 2014, the Daya Program reached 977,261 beneficiaries. This figure represents a 114% rise (yoy) from the same period last year. Meanwhile, a total of 76,659 Daya activities were held during the first semester of 2014, up 55% (yoy) from the same period last year.
In 2013, in order to improve the health services for its customers, BTPN collaborated with the Grand Aides Foundation from the United States, PT Asuransi Allianz Life Indonesia (“Allianz Life”), the Indonesian General Practitioners Association (PDUI), and the University of Indonesia’s Faculty of Psychology (FPsi UI) to implement the Health Cadre Program (Program Kader Kesehatan). Currently, up to 67 health cadres in Jakarta have undergone 140 hours of classroom training and another 20 hours of training in health clinics. This program thus presents an opportunity for BTPN customers and their family members to become trained health workers, and also motivates customers to live a healthy life.
