BTPN SINAYA EMPOWERS THE PUBLIC THROUGH ITS SAHABAT DAYA PROGRAM
Bandung, 15 August 2014 – Focused and consistent in serving lower-income communities, as well as micro & small enterprises (mass market), PT Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional Tbk (BTPN) believes that its mass market customers not only require financial access, but also training and information to enhance their capacities. BTPN is confident that such an enhancement of capacities can stimulate the businesses of its customers to grow in a sustainable manner.
To realize this, BTPN has implemented a business model that integrates its social and business missions in terms of its products, services, and everyday activities. The synergy between its business and empowerment efforts is reflected through ’Daya’, a measured and sustainable empowerment program dedicated to all BTPN customers comprised of pensioners as well as micro & small enterprise entrepreneurs.
Daya is applied in all BTPN’s business units, namely BTPN Purna Bakti— which was designed specifically to meet the needs of pensioners, BTPN Mitra Usaha Rakyat (MUR)— which is aimed at micro & small enterprise entrepreneurs, and BTPN Sinaya – its funding business unit.
Unlike the other two business units, in which Daya is more aimed at upgrading the customers’ capacities, BTPN Sinaya actually offers an opportunity to all savers and depositors to participate in the mission of empowering millions of people from mass market segment in Indonesia. Those who wish to participate can do so by becoming volunteers in the Sahabat Daya Program.
Sahabat Daya is a program that invites all stakeholders in BTPN to participate directly in empowering the mass market. Through the Sahabat Daya Program, customers can share knowledge and interact directly with our mass market customers.
“BTPN Sinaya customers who take part as volunteers in the Sahabat Daya Program, get to share their knowledge and training with others. This program provides access to BTPN Sinaya customers to empower lower-income communities as well as micro & small enterprises, so that they grow and have a more meaningful life,” said Dwi Handoko, Regional Business Leader BTPN Sinaya for the West Java area.
Harri Mulyana, a BTPN Sinaya customer, had the chance to share his experience as a businessman with BTPN MUR Bandung branch customers today through a training titled “Business Competition”. This forwarding agent, who is originated from Bandung, is very motivated to contribute towards the empowerment of lower-income segment of society, and in particular micro & small enterprises.
“The ups and downs of my journey in running a business have served as a calling for me to become a volunteer for Sahabat Daya. I have been fortunate to have had opportunities to share my business experiences to BTPN Mitra Usaha Rakyat customers” said Harri.
BTPN Sinaya offers a truly new concept in banking. At BTPN Sinaya, not only does your money gain significant interest in line with deposit account, but also embarking a journey of empowering others to improve the lives of Indonesians.
In a sustainable manner, BTPN is increasingly gaining the trust from all layers of society. This is reflected in the rise of Third Party Funds (TPF) being saved with BTPN Sinaya. As of 30 June 2014, the value of public savings stood at Rp 52,7 trillion, up 10% from Rp 47,7 trillion in the same period last year (YoY). The growth in TPF in this period is higher than that in the first quarter of 2014, which saw a rise of 6% (yoy).
“These impressive figures show that the public understands that by becoming a BTPN Sinaya customer not only do they enjoy unrivalled benefits, but they also have the potential to contribute towards the empowerment of lower-income sectors of society along with micro & small enterprises. BTPN Sinaya makes sure that the door remains open for other BTPN Sinaya customers to join the Sahabat Daya Program - as one form of participation in our overall mission to empower the millions of people in the Indonesian mass market,“ Dwi Handoko concluded.
