Bandung, 1 December 2016 – PT Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional Tbk (BTPN) and the daily newspaper The Jakarta Post host a talk show titled Meet the Post – Batik, Its Philosophy and Empowerment which discuss the preservation of batik with empowerment.


The talk show features Batik Go Tik Swan entrepreneur Nugroho and Deputy President Director of BTPN Ongki W. Dana as speakers. The event is moderated by the Managing Editor – Life The Jakarta Post Digital Asmara Wreksono.


Batik is an essential part of Indonesia’s cultural heritage, and as such a lot of people pay serious attention to this art form, including Batik Go Tik Swan entrepreneur Nugroho. As a direct relative of the Indonesian batik master Go Tik Swan, Nugroho grew up with this legendary Indonesian artist, getting to listen, feel and be involved first-hand in the process of designing and creating every piece of batik made by Go Tik Swan, from the initial stages until completion.


Until today, Batik Go Tik Swan’s production values still hold firm to the philosophy and essence of authenticity, ranging from the design process to the production process itself, both of which are integral to the preservation of batik. “Nowadays, Batik Go Tik Swan’s batik artisans still have to use the original patterns and designs of Go Tik Swan,” Nugroho explained.
