BTPN ENCOURAGES PURNA BAKTI CUSTOMERS TO STAY HEALTHY AND PRODUCTIVE IN THEIR TWILIGHT YEARS

MANADO, 4 May 2016 – Focused and consistent in serving lower-income communities, as well as micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), PT Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional Tbk (BTPN) believes that direct engagement in empowering customers is the key of the first-rate and sustainable business performance growth.

To achieve this, BTPN has implemented a business model that integrates its social and business missions to its products, services and everyday activities. The synergy between these two missions is reflected through Daya.

Daya is a measured and sustainable empowerment program that consists of three program pillars namely Daya Sehat SejahteraDaya Tumbuh Usahaand Daya Tumbuh Komunitas. Daya is implemented in all BTPN business units including BTPN Purna Bakti – a business unit which focuses on serving pensioners, BTPN Mitra Usaha Rakyat – a business unit which focuses on serving micro and small enterprises, BTPN Mitra Bisnis - a business unit which serves small and medium enterprises and BTPN Sinaya – a funding business unit. BTPN Syariah, a subsidiary of BTPN which focuses on serving customers from productive poor communities, also applies Daya.

With more than 58 years of experience, BTPN understands that besides the simple and quick financial services, pensioners also need other requirements to live healthy and prosperous. So BTPN provides a business training program to our pensioner customers.

“The Daya program is held on a regular and routine basis in all of BTPN Purna Bakti’s operational areas. As part of the Daya program, we also invite outside parties, such as wheat producers, aquaculture entrepreneurs and even our own customers, to ]provide training to pensioner customers,” said Irradiatie Pierenika, Regional Governance Head of BTPN’s Eastern Indonesia Region.

In today’s training activity, BTPN Purna Bakti invites customers to learn a pastry and Manadonese cuisine business. The learning becomes special because it is facilitate by a BTPN Purna Bakti customer that has successfully build her own business in her retirement age. “We believe that as fellow retirees, the training participants generally share the same perspective and language as this successful BTPN Purna Bakti customer. So the activity to inspire other customers is effective to transmit the spirit of entrepreneurship to the participants,” Irradiatie added.

The customer who shares her inspirational story in the training is Maimuna Nicolaas (64 years of old).Since a long time ago, Maimuna’s hobby is cooking. Her cake is marketed to neighbors and relatives. Determined in pastry business, Maimuna has successfully filled her pension time with productive activity, as well as stayed healthy and become more prosperous. “There are a lot of ways to spend your retirement. I choose to stay productive because I believe it is the key to a healthy and prosperous life in olg age,” said Maimuna.
