EID AL FITR COLLECTIVE LEAVE: 12-19 OCTOBER 2007


Jakarta (Admin). The Government has decided to extend Eid Al Fitr holiday to 12 to 19 October 2007, taking one day before and after the two-day Eid Al Fitr celebration which will fall on 13 and 14 October 2007.

The amendment to the joint decree signed by the Minister of Religious Affairs Maftuh Basyuni, the Minister of Manpower and Transmigration Erman Suparno, and the Minister of State Administrative Reform Taufik Effendi in Jakarta on Monday.

The decision to extend the holiday period put a revision on the joint decree of the Minister of Religious Affairs, the Minister of Manpower and Transmigration, and the Minister of Administrative Reform No. 481 year 2006 No. Kep. 281/Men/VII/2006 and No. SKB/03/M.PAN/7/2006 on National Holidays and Collective Leave in 2007.

The collective leave in 2007 consists of:
18 May 2007: collective leave to extend the holiday celebrating the Ascension of Jesus Christ on Thursday, 17 May 2007
12 to 19 October 2007: collective leave one day before and after Eid Al Fitr, 1 Syawal 1428 H on Saturday & Sunday 13 - 14 October 2007
21 to 26 December 2007: collective leave in the celebration of Eid Al-Adha on Thursday, 20 December and one day before and after Christmas Day on Tuesday, 25 December 2007
31 December 2007: collective leave in the celebration of New Year's Day 2008 on Tuesday, 1 January 2008.

The Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare asked community health centers, hospitals, banks, drinking water companies, telecommunication companies, security, firefighters, and other public service institutions to arrange the assignment of their employees during holidays according to the prevailing statutory regulations. FDT (Source: Kompas, 2 October 2007)
