Jenius Officially Presents Life Finance Solutions for Digital-Savvy Communities in Pekanbaru


Pekanbaru, March 17, 2022 – Jenius, a life finance solution for digital-savvy communities, is officially here in Pekanbaru. As a digital banking from Bank BTPN, Jenius is here to reach out to more digital-savvy communities to help them manage their finances and lives simpler, smarter, and safer.

 

Now, for the account activation, apart from the direct way of using a smartphone through Video Call KYC (Know-Your-Customer) service, digital-savvy communities in Pekanbaru can also directly visit the Jenius booth located on the 1st Floor of Mal SKA and the Ground Floor of Atrium 2 Living World Pekanbaru.

 

Waasi B. Sumintardja, Digital Banking Business Product Head Bank BTPN, said that Jenius continues to see digital-savvy community enthusiasts throughout Indonesia, including those in Pekanbaru.

 

“In the past five years, Jenius has grown up with digital-savvy communities in Indonesia. Jenius has been used by more than 3.5 million digital-savvy people in 34 provinces and 514 cities and regencies in Indonesia. This enthusiasm drives us to continue to reach out to and educate more digital-savvy communities so that they can manage their lives and finances better. Jenius conducted a survey in February 2022 on financial behavior of digital-savvy communities and found that 45% of digital-savvy community members in Pekanbaru regularly set aside part of their income for savings, 33% save the remaining funds after routine payments but before other expenses, and another 22% save from the remaining funds after routine payments and other expenses.

 

The survey involved 100 respondents of digital-savvy community members aged around 17-30 years old in Pekanbaru.

 

The survey also found that in terms of budgeting, 43% of Pekanbaru people always comply with the predetermined budget, 29% were close to budget but sometimes more than what was set, and 28% did not do the budgeting plan.

 

"Seeing the results of the survey, Jenius’s presence in Pekanbaru is expected to be the answer to the needs of digital-savvy communities to be able to manage finances and live better directly through smartphones from one application," said Waasi.

 

Even though Jenius has just available offline in Pekanbaru, Jenius has been known and used by digital-savvy communities in Pekanbaru. In addition to that, they get information and create a Jenius account while traveling to another city and visiting Jenius Live (Jenius booth) in Bandung and Yogyakarta.

 

Also from the same survey, five features that are most frequently used by Jenius users in Pekanbaru are Send It (26%), e-Wallet Center (21%), e-Card (17%), In & Out (14%), and m-Card (13%). Moreover, three reasons Pekanbaru people use Jenius are because Jenius helps ease their banking transaction processes (59%), provides them with complete features (34%), and has attractive features (13%).

 

Through all features available in Jenius, digital-savvy communities can manage their finances such as opening savings accounts, making transactions, also managing accounts easily anytime from their smartphones. One of the features is Send It, which can be used to send money and pay phone bills, and pay for credit cards, e-commerce purchases, internet, television subscription, transportation, as well as to top up phone credit. Furthermore, Jenius offers up to five debit cards equipped with Visa and GPN networks to help users make budget allocations according to their needs. Users can have one main debit card (m-Card), one virtual debit card (e-Card), and three additional debit cards (x-Card) that can be used in the ATM Bersama/Prima network. Furthermore, there is an e-Wallet Center feature that makes it easy for users to manage and top up digital wallet services, such as Go-Pay, OVO, DANA, LinkAja, ShopeePay, M-Tix, and BNI TapCash.

 

Jenius also provides a savings feature (Save It) that can be used based on the user’s needs, goals, and saving behavior, namely Flexi Saver, Dream Saver, and Maxi Saver. With Flexi Saver, users can save with an interest rate of 2.5% per year at the moment and can withdraw or deposit it again at any time without penalty, while Dream Saver serves as an auto-debit savings that can be used to realize dreams with a current interest rate of 2.5% per year, with users allowed to determine the amount of the deposit and the period based on their needs.

 

Another savings feature, Maxi Saver, is a time deposit account with an interest rate of 4% per year for time being, with the amount of deposit, tenor, and extension that can also be set directly through the Jenius application.

 

To complete the needs of digital-savvy communities, Jenius recently launched an Investment feature that was built through a co-creation process with Jenius users. The latest feature of reksa dana (mutual funds) Investment on Jenius provides users with simple ways to open a mutual fund account, to choose the products, to do transactions, and to monitor their portfolios directly from the Jenius application. Currently, there are 17 mutual fund products from three investment managers, namely PT Ashmore Asset Management Indonesia, PT Mandiri Manajemen Investasi, dan PT Schroder Investment Management Indonesia, in four product categories, namely money market, short-term bonds, long-term bonds, and equities, available on Jenius. This investment feature also allows users to invest in mutual fund starting from Rp10,000.
