Jenius Launches Moneymoji, A New Way to Send Money with Animated Greeting

Jakarta, 24 May 2018 – Ramadhan and Idul Fitri are special moments for Indonesians. To complete the special moment, Jenius from PT Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional Tbk (BTPN) introduced Moneymoji, the latest innovation which combines money transfer and animated greeting to give more meaning in every gift.

“Sending money to our closest persons is not just sharing nominal but there is a deeper meaning behind it. Through the Moneymoji feature, we can personally share with our beloved ones in an easy, smart and safe way,” BTPN Director Anika Faisal said.

BTPN Head of Digital Banking Peterjan van Nieuwenhuizen explained that the idea to create this feature was based on an online survey by Jenius to its 360 users in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok and Tangerang during the 2-6 May 2018 period. The survey was conducted to understand the digital savvy behavior during Ramadhan and Idul Fitri. “We found some interesting facts. Apart from consumptive spending, the digital savvy also allocated special fund for sharing,” Peter said.

Peter explained that from the surveyed 360 digital savvy, some 93 percent said parents were the priority for sharing, followed by social foundations for 85 percent, siblings 78 percent and people close to them (drivers, housemaids, office boys and others) 54 percent. Some 47 percent of them also allocated fund to hang out during the breaking-the-fast gatherings or sending Idul Fitri hampers.

Based on the online survey, a total of 78 percent of Jenius users said Send It was the most helpful feature during Ramadhan and Idul Fitri. They would use it to share. Send It is a feature from Jenius to send money and pay bills in an easy and quick way.

From the survey, Jenius wants to help customers express their feelings and give a special meaning to every interaction in those special moments including Ramadhan and Idul Fitri. Through the Moneymoji feature, Jenius combines the money transfer feature through Send It feature and animated greeting to their beloved ones.

“Ramadhan and Idul Fitri cannot be untied from the tradition of giving money as a gift or angpao. Moneymoji revolutionizes the new way of sending money without eliminating the personal aspect,” Peter said.

Jenius – through its collaboration and cocreation spirit – will keep innovating to fulfill the dynamic need and lifestyle of those digital savvy. “Therefore, the Moneymoji will always be present in completing special moments for special persons,” said Peter.

Jenius is a digital banking innovation for urban and digital savvy segment with digitalization process since the beginning. Through Jenius, customers can open their bank account without the need to come into branch office and enjoy various banking services through apps.

After being introduced for the first time in August 2016, Jenius has successfully integrated the lifestyle and finance elements (life finance concept) to digital savvy urban people in the Greater Jakarta, Bandung and Surabaya.
