PT Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional Tbk  held the empowerment program called "Daya" in the Bank's Mahardika Branch Office, Jalan Pantai Mardika Blok A1 No. 5, Rijali District, Ambon. "Daya" is a sustainable and scalable mass market empowerment program to increase the capacity of retiree, micro and small entrepreneurs (MSEs), as well as productive poor community customers.  attended the event. Fierly explains, "The Bank developed "Daya" program based on a business model that integrates our social and business mission, or "Do Good Do Well ". Because we believe that our involvement in improving the customers’ environment will have a positive impact on the growth capacity of customers, which also will improve BTPN’s performance growth."

BTPN is committed to build the capacity of our customers by providing opportunities to grow and improve their quality of life through the three pillars of the Daya program, Daya Sehat Sejahtera (Daya Health and Wellness), Daya Tumbuh Usaha (Daya Entrepreneurial Capacity Building), and Daya Tumbuh Komunitas (Daya Community Empowerment).

The "Daya" program that was hold in Ambon is the "Daya Entrepreneurial Capacity Building " program. This program, said Fierly, is business development training for micro and small entrepreneurs (MSEs). Training is used the "Bang Handal" module. This training module gives tips to entrepreneurs in managing their micro-finance, so that they can create a well managed and organized financial records.

In addition to the training module "Bang Handal", the Bank also has a variety of other training modules, namely "Kak Citra", "Kak Laris", and "Mbak Puspa". "Kak Citra" offers tips to micro entrepreneurs in building and developing their brand, so that their businesses have an identity recognized by the customer, which ultimately leads to a positive impact on their business. "Kak Laris" gives tips to the micro entrepreneurs on how to increase revenue and create loyal customes, while "Mbak Puspa" gives tips in managing merchandise inventory.

"Within a 1-year period (July 1, 2011 - June 30 2012) the program has reached 948,269 beneficiaries nationwide, an increase of 61% over the same period last year, which recorded 588,540 beneficiaries. The beneficiaries are mass market customers,  which are micro and small businesses, retirees, as well as productive low-income communities, "said Fierly.

Fierly added that the amount of Daya activities and training classes held increased by 102% from 18,187 activities (as of June 2011) to 36,669 activities (as of June 2012). In addition, the Bank's empowerment programs that were implemented during this period received very positive feedbacks from customers. Based on the evaluation, the average customer satisfaction rate reached 90%.

"Through Daya Entrepreneurial Capacity Building program, we are aiming to increase the capacity of BTPN's customers, mainly micro business customers, thus they can grow better," said Fierly.
