BTPN CONDUCTS AGMS


Consistently Expands Pension and Micro & Small Business Markets
 
Jakarta, 8 April 2010. Today, PT Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional Tbk (BTPN) has held its Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS). The AGMS has resolved a number of important decisions that include the approval of the Financial Statements for the Year Ended 31st December 2009, the decision of no dividend distribution as the manifestation of the shareholders' commitment to sustain business growth, and the appointment of the members of the Board of Commissioners and the Board of Directors since the term-of-office of the current board members is expiring. 

During the year 2009, the Bank has made significant progress as the result of its focused and unique strategy that combines social and business mission as expressed in the motto "Do Good Do Well". This motto constitutes the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of millions of Indonesian people and the opportunity to be one of the best banks that focuses on serving the bottom segment of the market pyramid. 

Such significant progress is reflected in the Financial Statements for the Year Ended 31st December 2009. Amidst the global financial crisis, the Bank maintained its commitment to invest in the development of micro business by opening 493 offices of btpn|mitra usaha rakyat, while still recording performance growth in various elements. Lending increased by 51%, third-party funds grew by 63%, assets grew by 63%, and net income reached Rp 420 billion. The AGMS has decided that the entire net income of 2009 would be booked as retained earnings. "AGMS' decision not to distribute dividends and to keep the net profit of 2009 as retained earnings reflects the shareholders'  strong commitment and consistency in supporting and strengthening the Bank' s business growth going forward," said Jerry Ng, President Director of BTPN.

The AGMS also made the decision on the appointments of the members of the Board of Commissioners and the Board of Directors, since the term-of-office of the current boards is expiring. As such, BTPN's new Board of Commissioners and Board of Directors comprise:
